Izabela Rudzka – Murano Glass Sculptures:
The glass sculptures created on the isle of Murano are my dialogue between an artist and the glass-making masters from Murano near Venice, famous for its centuries-long tradition in creating and experimenting with this fascinating and yet very difficult material.
These works were created in the years 2007-2008 and were the beginning of an important stage in my creative endeavour: transformation of painting expression into transparent energy of art through a unique medium of glass. These sculptures are among a small number of such projects involving co-operation between a Polish artist and a Murano master.
The works have been displayed as part of the following projects: “Venice between Old Symbols and New expressions”, Berengo Collection, Venice, Italy, 2007; “Venice-Poznań. A promising relationship”, Venice- Poznań, 2008; “Fresh Glass”, Arsenał City Gallery, Poznań, 2008; “Glass Bridge”, Mediations Biennale 2008, Museum of Applied Arts, Poznań, 2008; Venezia In Frankfurt/Oder, Fratelli Gallery, Frankfurt/Oder, Germany, 2012; “Genes of Blue”, Wieża Ciśnień Culture and Arts Centre, Konin 2013; “Point of View”, Kalisz Regional Museum, Kalisz, 2014; “Entrance- Between- Exit”, “Winda” Modern Art Gallery, Kielce, 2015; “Light²”, Think Art, Poznań, 2016
